Here are a few pictures from our trip to Arizona. Blogspot and I were having some technical issues, but it looks like they have a new way to add pictures and it finally worked.
Our family at the Mesa, AZ Temple.
Between Flagstaff and Phoenix...we were trying to beat the storm and were blessed with a really beautiful view of the sunrays.
The closest thing to a family picture we could get at the Grand Canyon. The wind was blowing, the kids were unimpressed, and I was afraid somebody was going to fall over the edge, thanks to the rickety railing.
In the Glen Canyon Dam visitors center...M was taking notes, P was showing us how the zipper broke on his coat, and G was just happy to be out of the van.
On the bridge near the dam...it was a little creepy to feel it shake as the semi trucks drove past us.
P's birthday cake...The cake was the highlight of the day. P had a rough birthday. We went to church at 8:00 a.m. It was raining cats and dogs but the kids were so stir crazy from the ride, that we went to the park anyway. P was riding his scooter (fast) around the playground and the wheel got caught in one of the expansion joints. He flew over the front and took a direct hit from the handlebar. It left a nasty circle on his lip, hurt a tooth, and produced a lot of blood.
These three shots are from Zion National Park. We hiked up to the Lower Emerald Pool...it wasn't emerald because it was so early in the spring, but it was a nice hike and a pretty waterfall anyway. G was tired so we didn't go on to the next set of pools. Plus E wasn't feeling so hot...she'd had a bout of carsickness in Springdale. What would a family vacation be like without at least one stop for disaster clean up?
